On the right side of the entrance to the Corte Grande can still be seen the remains of the ancient Parish Church of San Marco and Gregorio, now home to a café and, in the past, to the Cooperativa di Consumo Trecellese.

The church was originally dedicated to Saint Gregory, invoked as a protector against leprosy and the plague. In the 16th century the dedication to Saint Mark was added. The earliest documented reference to its existence dates back to 1288, marking its long, significant presence in local history.

In 1557, following a pastoral visit by Saint Charles Borromeo, the parish seat was moved here, as the Church of San Lazzaro was in very poor condition due to a bad storm that had damaged it. Don Stefano Tortorino was its first parish priest, but the church only gained full administrative autonomy in 1635 with the fourth parish priest, Don Andrea Cantone. However, an official parish register recording baptisms, marriages, and funerals was only started in 1642.

Over time, the church lost its religious function and was sold to the Resta Pallavicino family at the price of 25,000 lire in order to fund the construction of the new parish church.

Only part of the original structure has been preserved. The top of the bell tower, still visible in a photograph from the early 20th century, was demolished, and the building was lowered to the height of the roof. The bells remained in use until 1935 and were then moved to the new parish church of San Marco, after its bell tower was completed.

After the old church was decommissioned, its premises housed the Cooperativa di Consumo Trecellese, which, before World War I, also dealt with renting agricultural machines to its farming members.

The present café retains the structure of the ancient building, with lowered ceilings and upper floors that may conceal remnants of frescoes, although, most of the original decorations are likely to have been damaged by dampness.
