The internal entrance to Villa Resta Pallavicino, one of Trecella’s most prominent historic residences, is located in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.

The building, dating back to the late 18th century, was commissioned by Donna Camilla Prata, a member of one of the most influential families in the area. In 1806, Donna Camilla, already residing in Trecella, married Count Giuseppe Resta, but the marriage lasted only a few years. Upon the count’s untimely death in 1809, the property went to his brother Giovanni Resta.

The villa took its current name when Giovanni married Marchioness Fanny Pallavicino Clavello. From their union came the Resta Pallavicino lineage.

In 1866, the villa was inherited by Count Ferdinando Resta Pallavicino, Giovanni’s son. Ferdinando, who was knighted in the Order of Saint Stephen of Tuscany, had the residence restored and embellished, bringing it back to its former glory. Thanks to him, the villa became a centre of cultural and social life, highlighting the family ‘s aristocratic status.

The entrance hall features an atrium adorned with two Verona marble columns, and a portrait gallery of the Pallavicino dynasty, spanning from 987 to 1889. This gallery is a lasting tribute to the most remarkable figures of a noble family that helped shape the Lombard territory both from a historical and cultural point of view.

The Resta Pallavicino are associated with other noble residences, such as the Palazzo Resta Pallavicino in Milan, a baroque building with a neoclassical facade located in Via Conservatorio, now home to the Faculty of Political, Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Milan.
